Specialization Sports Chiropractic

Competitive sports require both maximal performance and absolute discipline

Sports chiropractic aims at ensuring optimal body function as a foundation for highest performance. Accordingly, the scope of sports chiropractic in professional sports is primarily performance- and injury management.

In order to cover both areas effectively, the chiropractor tries to preserve or enhance biomechanical function, neurological integrity and muscular balance of the competing athlete.

In this context, the "International Sports Chiropractic Diploma" (ICSSD) is the minimal requirement for a quality-orientated chiropractic care. This post-graduate training program prepares the chiropractor both theoretically and practically for assignments in the field of competitive sports.

Therefore a steadily increasing number of professional and recreational athletes seek regular chiropractic care both before and after competing to ensure optimal body function and performance.

ICSSD Program

A primary objective of FICS is to promote equal standards of education and practice in sports chiropractic worldwide.

The International Chiropractic Sports Science Diploma (ICSSD) produces a well rounded individual chiropractor who is qualified to work at sporting events throughout the world. Furthermore, it is the minimum qualification required to be part of a FICS chiropractic delegation for a national or international event such as the Olympic and World Games.
