The Association

The German Sports Chiropractic Council (DGSC) was founded in Brunswig in 2004 by Alexander Steinbrenner DC who also became its first president. Today the DGSC is an official member of FICS, an international association that governs the network of national sports chiropractic councils. FICS is affiliated to both international chiropractic organizations (e.g. WFC) and Sports Councils such as Sportaccord.

For the last couple of years FICS has been coordinating the assignment of chiropractors to various international sport events such as the Summer and Winter Olympics as well as Games in a diversity of countries (e.g. All African, Central American, Caribbean, Commonwealth, Mediterranean and Pan American Games). A FICS team was also supporting the 2005 World Games in Duisburg/Germany as well as the 2009 World Games in Taipei.
